Omni-Motion 24-Hour MTB - Looking back.

-Planning for the first Omni-Motion 24-Hour MTB begins. It’s decided to follow the AMTRI rules for 24-Hour racing. This format is created by the founder of 24 hour MTB racing “Laird Knight” in the USA in 1992.

-The first Omni-Motion 24-Hour MTB event takes place at Logwood Ranch.

-2nd 24-Hour MTB at Logwood Ranch. Entries double.

-3rd 24-Hour MTB at Logwood Ranch. Entries double again and lots more interest is created around our 24-Hour experience.

-4th Year of our event at Logwood Ranch. Entries grow yet again as online entries are introduced.

-Final year of the 24-Hour MTB at Logwood Ranch. Venue becomes too small for the growth of the 24-Hour event. Security concerns also become numerous.

-We move the 6th edition of the Omni-Motion 24-Hour MTB to a new venue – Northern Farm. Entries grow and the event becomes bigger.

-Omni-Motion 24-Hour MTB remains at Northern Farm. The venue proves to be satisfactory and safe for the event.

-The 8th Omni-Motion 24-Hour MTB remains at Northern Farm. The venue proves to be satisfactory and safe for the event.

-The 9th Omni-Motion 24-Hour MTB remains at Northern Farm. The size of the event shows signs of outgrowing the venue. We look at other options for 2009.

-The 10th year of 24-Hour MTB moves to Rietvlei Farm. New sponsors come on board and the race is now known as “Bicycling Magazine 24-Hour MTB by Omni-Motion”
The new venue proves to be satisfactory and safe for the event.

-You are here. Enjoy.
