Omni-Motion started as an alternative sports organization in 1992.
Activities included mountain biking, BMX Freestyle, free climbing and beach volleyball. Over the years mountain biking became the main focus and most efforts were concentrated on MTB and specially 24-Hour racing.

Omni-Motion 24-Hour MTB - Looking back.
1999 -Planning for the first Omni-Motion 24-Hour MTB begins. It’s decided to follow the AMTRI rules for 24-Hour racing. This format is created by the founder of 24 hour MTB racing “Laird Knight” in the USA in 1992.
2000 -The first Omni-Motion 24-Hour MTB event takes place at Logwood Ranch.
2001 -2nd 24-Hour MTB at Logwood Ranch. Entries double.
2002 -3rd 24-Hour MTB at Logwood Ranch. Entries double again and lots more interest is created around our 24-Hour experience.
2003 -4th Year of our event at Logwood Ranch. Entries grow yet again as online entries are introduced.
2004 -Final year of the 24-Hour MTB at Logwood Ranch. Venue becomes too small for the growth of the 24-Hour event. Security concerns also become numerous.
2005 -We move the 6th edition of the Omni-Motion 24-Hour MTB to a new venue – Northern Farm. Entries grow and the event becomes bigger.
2006 -Omni-Motion 24-Hour MTB remains at Northern Farm. The venue proves to be satisfactory and safe for the event.
2007 -The 8th Omni-Motion 24-Hour MTB remains at Northern Farm. The venue proves to be satisfactory and safe for the event.
2008 -The 9th Omni-Motion 24-Hour MTB remains at Northern Farm. The size of the event shows signs of outgrowing the venue. We look at other options for 2009.
2009 -The 10th year of 24-Hour MTB moves to Rietvlei Farm. New sponsors come on board and the race is now known as “Bicycling Magazine 24-Hour MTB by Omni-Motion”
The new venue proves to be satisfactory and safe for the event.
2010 -You are here. Enjoy.
